Nigel
Mawer
Nigel left the Metropolitan Police Service in 2010 where he was
a Detective Chief Superintendent in the Specialist Crime Directorate based at New Scotland
Yard.
He was the head of the Economic and Specialist
Crime Command where he devised
‘Sterling’, the MPS strategy to combat economic crime in London. He led the National response to e-crime and the
operational response against serious and organised crime relating to the 2012 Olympics. He has led on some of
the most sensitive enquiries conducted by Scotland Yard.
In 2001 he achieved an MA in Individual and Organisational Development. He
was awarded the Queens Police Medal for Distinguished Police Service in the 2009 Queens Birthday Honours. He is
a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute.
He is the Regulator for Professional Snooker and works as a freelance
specialist advisor in the areas of economic and e-crime, anti-corruption and integrity in
sport.
