NIGEL MAWER QPM

Chairman

Nigel is the Chairman of the DRA and manages the day-to-day running of the

organisation.

 

This includes liaison with key partners such as the PDC and PDPA and managing

DRA Registered Agents, and he leads on regulatory and disciplinary issues and the

future development of the DRA.

 

Nigel left the Metropolitan Police Service in 2011, where he was a Detective Chief Superintendent in the Specialist Crime Directorate based at New Scotland Yard.

 

Formerly the Head of Economic and Specialist Crime at New Scotland Yard where he on some of the most sensitive enquiries conducted by Scotland Yard, in 2010 he ran the corruption enquiry into members of the Pakistani Cricket Team.

 

He was awarded the Queens Police Medal for Distinguished Police Service in the 2009 Queens Birthday Honours, has an MA in Individual and Organisational Development from Westminster University and is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute.

 

Nigel now works as an independent specialist advisor in the areas of sport regulation, integrity in sport and anti-corruption.

 

Alongside his work with the DRA, he is also the Vice-Chairman of the WPBSA and deals with all discipline and corruption issues relating to snooker, is a member of the Sports Betting Group and the Sports Betting Integrity Forum and is a Sport Resolutions UK Panel of Arbitrators Special Member.
